Tuesday

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and to all of you who shared that you are praying for us and for Ravi since our last update. We are still praising the Lord for the work he has done to connect this little boy to our family. We now know Ravi’s face and that he is waiting in Kolkata for us to bring him home to Mississippi.

It was a year ago this week that we had our first informational call with Lifeline Children’s Services about their India Program. We ended that call with our heads spinning, but one thing was for sure – adoption is expensive. Even though we knew our finances were insufficient, we knew that God was calling us to adoption and that He would provide.

Fast forward a year later and we are nothing short of amazed.  We were given a matching grant from Hearts of Compassion and Lifesong for Orphans. Our grant was met within 48 hours. The shirts and fantastic design for our t-shirt fundraiser were donated 100%. Family and friends sponsored our children in the Hearts of Compassion 5k. And so many of you have generously donated to our Lifesong adoption fund. God has provided every step of the way.  Every time a payment or fee was due, the necessary funds were there.  We are humbled and grateful.

Now that we know who Ravi is, we begin the big push to bring him home. This entails multiple approvals from both the US government and the Indian government, several court dates, as well as the trip to India to pick him up. Along with these steps comes another large financial commitment. We are still $7,000 shy of our goal. As Giving Tuesday approaches, would you consider donating to our adoption fund? You can give a tax deductible donation either online or via check. Details are below.

Thank you for all of your love and support.

Love,

Carl and Lyndsie
