Trusting

Just a short while ago we received the results of our RT-PCR Covid Test and learned that we are still positive.  We are nothing short of devastated that we cannot board our flight and depart Monday to go pick up Ravi. 

We knew this was a possibility since we are only a month out from having previously tested positive for Covid. We went through the quarantine process, fully recovered and hoped that we would be clear of the trace amounts of virus that can remain post recovery, however, that has not been the case.  The doctors explained that even though we are no longer contagious, our bodies will continue to shed “viral debris” that the RT-PCR test could pick up and trigger a positive result.  

There are many questions still to be answered.  How long until we will retest? If our next test is negative will we have time to book our flight and hotels and travel within the 72 hours as mandated by India? Will our agency be able to book the necessary in country appointments in time? What if we are positive again?  What if India and or the US go into another full lockdown and we miss our window of opportunity to travel internationally for months on end?  What if…what if…what if…?

As husband, father, and leader of my home I want to answer those questions now. But I cannot. The lyrics to CityAlight’s song “I will trust my Savior Jesus” is where my heart must go in times like this.
